8. I'm very lucky to live by a park with 40 acres of fields and streams
where the dogs can run off leash. Because of my work schedule we can go at odd times when very few people are around (though as far as I can tell, not a lot of people use the park anyway). I found with my other rescue, Bear, that the ability for him to run wild in a wild space (not a small, neighborhood dog run) really helped him with his anxiety. I think most rescues are traumatized in some way and running helps them process it, like exercise can help people. That first shot was taken in a split second between her running as breakneck speed toward me, then turning on a dime to stop and pose for me here, before dashing off again to run through the water and jump over logs.
