Howdy C&B! This afternoon we went to the supermarket and Mr. Pup was seized with a craving for hot Italian sausage spaghetti. I also scored a beautiful 5.5# duck for another time! :whohoo: I made meatballs from the sausage, browned them and deglazed the pan with a good dose of Montepulcianno, then added tomatoes and tomato sauce, basil, oregano, and onion and simmered while I tossed a quick salad dressing using fresh cucumber pickle with lemon juice and turbinado sugar then used that mixture as a base. The salad itself was green leaf lettuce, tomato, brined artichoke hearts and toasted pine nuts. We splurged on a baguette, and toasted half of it with garlic butter and shared that. Nice glass of red wine...but, no room for dessert. Good thing, too, as sorbet was $5.15 a pint! Hope your weekend was what you wanted and needed it to be!
