Best way to combat this BS is detailed facts.

Forget where I found the details for engineers. But women and men were hired in out of school at the same pay. Performance reviews and hence promotions etc. were all lower for women vs men. Hence 15+ years after graduation a woman who had never had a family would be substantially behind her male peers.
