President Obama was in NC last week, and didn't say anything.
There is no quote from President Obama given. It sure would be nice if the people fighting amendment 1 could give an actual quote from the President, even better if they had video of President Obama saying it.

What did the White House actually say to the NC campaign? Anything? What if Cameron French exceeded his authority here...

His statement is structured like a syllogism:

major premise: the President has long opposed divisive and discriminatory efforts to deny rights and benefits to same sex couples

minor premise: That’s what the North Carolina ballot initiative would do

conclusion: therefore, "the President does not support it.”
