2. Hardly surprising

Usually people, whatever their ethnic or religious group, are mostly concerned about what happens in their own country.

I am very interested in world affairs, as shown by the fact that I'm on DU at all; but I'd never vote for a Tory even if I liked their attitude to some other country!

In any case, Mitt's attitude to Israel is strange. I have Israeli relatives who were really put off by his visit, because he was mainly concerned with addressing a particular section of ultra-religious Israelis who are not popular with the country as a whole.
