As a kid there was no doubt what was the best movie ever made. It was hands down Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein. When it first played in my nabe in NYC the lines were around the block on a Saturday morning, hundreds of kids.

RKO 86th St. was a big theater, one of those ornate cinema palaces so common in the 40s. Orchestra and balcony filled with kids and they broke every fire regulation by allowing kids to sit in the aisles.

As a seven year old I couldn't get enough of monsters, werewolves and vampires. And here they all were, together in one movie!
