Cash fills it with such regret, bitterness, and self-loathing. It bring tears to my eyes. And I have an antidote for that: immediately following this song on my iPod is his duet with Fiona Apple on "Bridge Over Troubled Water". It's so beautiful, magical and soothing, it has a quality of redemption about it that cleanses the agony of "Hurt"
