We'd been chasing the parents away from our blueberry bush until we discovered a lone chick that's way too small to fly. We're letting them eat the blueberries now and I even got a tub of meal worms for them. We've had to herd the chick back to the safety of the bush about 20 times now while getting dive bombed by the parents. I think they know we're looking after it because they just belly whap us on the back instead of pecking.

I just checked on it a couple of hours ago. It's under a different tree but quite alert and doing well. We suspect that the others from the nest fell fate to a snake or a crow. It seems to be the only survivor. I don't know its sex so I named it Dana - unisex name.
