You've got a vibrant downtown area, the campus of Stetson University, Hontoon Landing State Park and the St. John's River to the west, Blue Springs State Park to the south (probably at the height of manatee season right now) and DeLeon Springs State Park to the north (best pancakes I've ever tasted, hands down, are made on the table at the old sugar mill at the park.)

Well worth a visit. Let me know if you are ever in the area again and I'll give you my recommendations.
