1. They had a great sound - The Look Of Love was a monster hit

My guitar hero in the 60s besides Jimi Hendrix and Wes Montgomery was Charlie Byrd, who was one of the pioneers in bringing the Brazilian sound to the U.S. Another incredible guitarist, one of the greatest who ever lived, was Brazilian Raphael Rabello, whose playing was magic. Unfortunately he died at a young age after coming to the United States to play and contracting HIV from a blood transfusion.
