I'm not an insufferable ass (at least not a BIG one), though I don't suffer bullies gladly. So I think
the folks ignoring me because of my attitude are minimal.
.
Some don't like my subject matter or approaches to it. That's OK -- I don't want to force anyone
to view my posts.
.
I think most don't like my "dots" nor my style of presentation. I use lots of physical space in a kind
of text/not-text fashion. I've always found this easier for ME to focus on material by others, so I
USE that technique in my posts, too.
.
Some used to accuse me of "spamming". I can't understand what kind of spamming they're talking
about and they would NEVER get specific when asked -- I think someone may have said I "spammed"
and then the others would repeat that, but be embarrassed when they realized that their justification
was, "Well... BOBBY said so." The closest I could come to it is my habit of posting all at once rather
than one at a time over an extended period of time (6 at a time max and not the traditional six "same"
posts that one usually associates with spamming -- but six distinct and independent posts). Even
when someone just posts "x" over and over, DU's spam filter (I don't know if it's still in existence)
wouldn't kick in 'til after a dozen or more posts.
.
The dots that I use -- people would declare them annoying... even obnoxious or "maddening". There
were more than a few folks (many of them would show up together) who put a lot of pressure on me
to change my style. Even if it were not there, that would raise questions, but ESPECIALLY with the
Ignore function present, this was much more an example of control issues on their part than the
inescapable "torture" that I "subjected" them to.
I can see many valid reasons why people would put someone on ignore, but the announcement of
putting someone on ignore reminds me of gradeschool playground behavior -- covering one's ears
with one's hands and chanting "LA LA LA LA I CAN'T HEAR YOU LA LA LA LA"!!!
.
It's a little weird and a lot funny. I think the last time it happened my response was "I miss you
already". It's kind of a Schrodinger's Cat conundrum -- "If I don't see a responsed from them, do
they have me on ignore or not?"
.
And while whether a cat is dead or not would concern me, being on Ignore or not does not.
.
I don't believe I've ever put anyone on ignore (though that might not be the case if I were to
spend more time in Meta or GD or certain other groups where obnoxious and/or bullying behavior
seems to be a norm). I find myself thoroughly capable of ignoring someone whose posts I've found
to be distasteful without any kind of tool needed.

Perhaps SOME of the people who have me on Ignore are in the background of this pic, while I
(note the avatar) am in the foreground).
