The whole cast was interviewed together, the lead actors in the first row, the supporting actors behind them. Since the show is technically ROMANO's, while being ensemble, LIPTON had to shift back and forth between highlighting the star and the rest of the cast. ROMANO was not a hog, is low wattage, lets the others take the attention.
So late in the interview, LIPTON needed to shift back to ROMANO for a plug for his latest project, asking him to do a recitation as the new character.
BOYLE was in the second row behind ROMANO. He was looking down, polishing the lenses of his glasses, when ROMANO stood up to do his thing.
And BOYLE said quietly, without ever looking up, "Wait till you see THIS transformation."
ROMANO and everybody cracked up. Sure enough, his new character was indistinguishable from his real self or the "Raymond" character.
