(14,400 posts)59. I had lunch or early dinner with Midnight Oil
at a truck stop in Canada several years ago. Man it was likely around 1988 or so, seems like just yesterday. We showed up while we were moving my brother, sat down and my brother said something like... "Jesus look at the size of that bald dude", I responded in my usual cool calm fashion... "Holy Fuck, that's Midnight Oil!".
Peter Garrett, turned around, smiled and asked us if we'd like to join them for dinner. We left with a CD and a band signed Diesel and Dust tour shirt from the bus. Damn but they were a nice bunch of guys.

I saw DVD in a parking lot one time. He was on foot and had to wait for our car to go by.

cool! Really like McDormand and Coen. My brother in law's father looks just like Brimley

I was at an Italian restaurant in New York last year. A mere 3 tables from where I was - Wayne Gretzky.

Wow - Garrett seems like such a neat person. Isn't he something like 7 feet tall?
