The potty booster and canes aren't that expensive compared to a walker and he'll probably need one for a while. Get one with wheels in the front and pegs in the back. I'm glad you stood up for him. Feel free to PM me if you need more information on the issue. I saw a specialist (second time) this morning and she's putting me on some new drug called "Forteo" or something. I've looked it up and it seems like a good idea, but it does mean a daily injection for the next two years. Fun, eh?
Relax, give him a gentle back rub, put him to sleep and then pour yourself a HUGE glass of merlot.

The bathroom was a MAJOR cause for concern when I came home from my long stint in the hospital.

Insurance will usually pay for one device - get a walker - cane's are fairly inexpensive.

The needle is not very big. After what I've been through, it will be nothing.

Find out if they will reimburse you and pay for it out-of-pocket if so (and if you can).

On getting a walker, I would DEFINITELY go for the 4-wheeled type with a seat and brakes.

Yep, brakes. That walker'll roll right out from under your ass when you try to sit down w/o them.
