and I know what point you were making, IMO, the fourth wall is more easily broken and less jarring on the theater stage.

I ended up watching the whole first season of the series, but it was only the acting strength of Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright and the other side characters that kept me going. In this series, breaking the fourth wall doesn't work for me.
