might, just might, result in MORE careful drivers.

My personal hypothesis about his has to do with how cannabis turns down certain perceptual filters, thus bombarding one with a level of sensory input that you're not used to, ergo anxiety. Higher sensory input, more attention to traits associated with driving, then, the only problem is how to avoid getting lost amongst higher level inputs that have to do with things like orienting oneself in unfamiliar surroundings, e.g. what direction to turn at an unfamiliar corner on a side of town that you rarely visit, or whether you're looking for a state highway exit or a federal one. Details all good, the much bigger stuff, not so much.
