stopped long time before their revolutions giving their propaganda any more cred than a good source of jokes. And with Glasnost attempt to honesty and truth, the whole thing came down pretty fast and relatively peacefully. And then the people there got lied to and ass-fucked by westernized corporate media, and still do.

So far so good, but the point is, people in Soviet block had no benefit of Internet social media, we do. We are the media now and corporate "journalism" is financially doomed, their profit margin getting thinner and thinner, less and less professionals in payroll, less and less news stories produced. The journalism for profit (and capitalism) simply cannot compete with free citizen journalism.
