Mrs. Obama announced the Top Ten list regarding fun-facts about gardening. The list included the comments:
Number 7: In his lifetime, the average American will eat half a radish.
Number 6: The largest zucchini ever grown contained a Starbucks.
Number 5: Later this year, the Supreme Court will finally rule on “tomato” versus “tomahto.”
The Letterman appearance is just one of several that the First Lady has made in recent weeks to promote the book. Additionally, the book’s release along and her public appearances are politically-designed to highlight Mrs. Obama’s tremendous popularity with Americans during President Barack Obama’s reelection campaign.
The profits of Mrs. Obama’s book will be donated to gardening-related charities and used for the upkeep of the White House’s garden on the South Lawn.
