"This meant outsourcing jobs to places like Mexico and China, which meant the creative destruction of obsolete jobs here at home. Whether Romney was directing them or not, these activities were perfectly legal."
If the jobs were "obsolete" why were they "off-shored" versus ended? Charity to Mexico and China? And unemployment may not be a concern to *you* and *your* friends, but they are a concern to everybody who's had their lives wrecked by unemployment, which is a fucking lot of people thanks to the Mittens of the world.
"He has only released oneĖfor 2010, with estimates for 2011. Standard operating procedure for 21st century presidential candidates is: you release everything, more or less. And Romney will be plagued by this issue until he does.
And when he does weíre likely to find that he made a lot of money and paid very little taxes. Itís possible that the 14% was his high water mark. Itís possible that there were years when he paid much less."
Yes, paying very little in taxes while raking in hundreds of millions will stick in the craw of the vast majority of us serfs.
But there's another little issue that the tax returns will reveal. Shannon O'Brien tried to duplicate Ted Kennedy's very successful campaign against Rmoney, but Rmoney was prepared for the attacks this time and blanketed MA with ads claiming he left Bain in 1999 and had nothing to do with the outsourcing. And then Rmoney changed business filings after the facts to "prove" that claim. His tax records will prove that he was still running Bain and that he was behind the job losses.
His successful lies of 1999 will blow right up in his face. And who knows what little "felonies" might also appear with close examination and comparison with business filings and SEC filings.
