I think they would do Zimmerman a favor if they charge him. He will be persona non grata for the rest of his life in many places he doesn't even know exist. His name will be associated with this killing. He needs to present his case to a jury and see what the jury decides.

If he isn't charged, one of these days he will apply for a job or something, and his employer will remember his name (it will be vaguely familiar) and Google and check the public record -- and who would want to hire a man who shot a 17-year-old kid under unclear circumstances.

This is my opinion based on what I know.

I would like to know what the autopsy says.
