Fox News: 'Secret Documents' Claim Bergdahl Became A 'Warrior' For Islam
TOM KLUDT JUNE 5, 2014, 5:38 PM EDT
Fox News reported Thursday on what it described as "secret documents" showing Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl converted to Islam and even declared himself a "warrior" for the religion during his five years of captivity.
Citing "secret documents prepared on the basis of a purported eyewitness account," Fox's James Rosen wrote that Bergdahl had a roller-coaster experience after he was captured in 2009.
There were times, according to Rosen, when Bergdahl was "treated very much like a hostage," and other times the soldier bonded with his captors and was even allowed to carry a gun.
According to the report, Bergdahl managed to escape for five days at one point and. After he was re-captured, he was reportedly locked in a cage "like an animal."

This is from a liberal web site (TPM) reporting what FOX is doing. I think there is a difference, I'm not posting an article from FOX. Hopefully most DU'ers see the difference.

White House: No evidence Bergdahl fraternized with Taliban
By Justin Sink - 06/05/14 09:10 PM EDT
A senior White House aide said Thursday he had seen no evidence to confirm a report that rescued Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl converted to Islam, fraternized with the Taliban, and declared jihad during nearly five years of captivity.
We have seen no evidence of that, deputy national security adviser Tony Blinken told CNN when asked about a Fox News report about Bergdahls conduct while imprisoned by the Taliban.

The idea that we are trying Sergeant Bergdahl in the court of public opinion in abstentia, without giving him an opportunity to give his story and to tell us what happened, frankly, I find repugnant, Blinken said. We don't know what happened. We are determined to get to the bottom of it. The military will investigate appropriately. Let's get the facts before we rush to judgment.
The Fox News report is based on dispatches written by a Pentagon subcontractor staffed by former intelligence officials hired to prepare reports on terrorist activities. The head of the firm told the network he provided intelligence briefs to the director of intelligence at the U.S. Central Command.
