Lately, the biggest perpetrators of violence in the US have been right-wing extremists. Believe it or not, they have outnumbered Muslim terrorists by much higher margins than you would believe and their violence is increasing. Hate crimes have been skyrocketing in number; several worshipers were gunned down at a Sikh temple, several were shot by a Glenn Beck zombie at a Unitarian Church, two different taxi drivers have been shot for being Muslims (one was East Indian), an Iranian woman was killed by a person(s) for her nationality, Skinhead and Hammerskin violence is escalating as we have seen by the recent rash of law enforcement killings, and and none of this even covers the bombing of the Oklahoma City federal building. The Southern Poverty Law Center keeps statistics and records of many hate crimes perpetrated by right-wing extremists against Muslims, most of them being property crimes, but they have been many that have included beatings and killings. Right-wing violence has reached it's ascendancy. Whether this crime was committed by Muslims or not, right-wing extremists are still gunning for our law enforcement officers and minorities.
