Perhaps I am not up on modern warfare, but isn't attacking Syrian military convoys within Syria an act of war?

Note: I do not like or support Syria in any way, but if Israel is looking for a provocation for hostilities then it has given Syria exactly that: an excuse to use force to repel force.

Unless Israel is prepared to go to war I would expect it to not stir the pot.
