The NRA has gained something like 200,000 new members and $4 million in new contributions in the past month alone. Make no mistake, they LOVE this publicity. Even if we find their statements ridiculous, it energizes their base in a way nothing else has in years.

Democrats from red states are now openly stating they can't pass gun control legislation because of the fear they'll be voted out of office in the 2014 midterms, Harry Reid being the most prominent among them.
