I'm so upset I can hardly see straight, much less get a legible post out. I don't wish ill will or harm to anyone, but right now I can't even think of a punishment bad enough for Jindal for even letting this thought cross his mind, much less planning to put it in place. Yeah, I know, I know. Sounds like the thought police, but anyone who has been through a long illness, followed by the death of someone they love knows what I'm talking about. Hospice workers are angels on earth. My husband's last days would have been an absolute nightmare if we didn't have access (through Medicare) to hospice. ALL his pain-killers, any device, any service, ANYTHING he needed was provided without charge what-so-ever. Those nurses would have been there everyday, all day if we needed them. They were amazing...I don't know how they do the work they do. But I guess the knowledge that they're making the very bad inevitable as painless as possible for everyone involved helps them deal with it. Even after Mike passed, they were there for me; calling me to check and see how I was, letting me know about support groups...they were wonderful. It's been 2 1/2 years now, and I still get calls and letters from them.

And that no good son of a bitch wanted to take this kind of care away from dying people to avoid raising taxes on the very wealthy. I can't really express my disgust. This should be on every newscast in the country. I knew these people were heartless, evil bastards, but this is beyond the pale.
