23. Indeed, she was, but not by the government, apparently. After reading the ACLU complaint, it's
pretty clear that she was targeted by the employees of Frontier Airlines, who then reported her to the FBI.
I will not excuse the FBI. Let me be clear---If what the Plaintiff describes in her complaint is true, then I question the professionalism and actions of the FBI, and think that she should recover from them. By recover, I mean that the FBI owe her an apology and a check.
So do Frontier Airlines.
It seems she had the misfortune of sitting next to two men who used the facilities for 10-20 minutes. Because Ms. Hebshi, and the men, were 'ethnic' looking to Frontier employees, they assumed they were traveling companions up to no good.
Detroit had been the destination of the failed 'underwear bomber,' and with the 9/11 anniversary, I am sure everyone was on 'high alert.' That explains what happened, but does NOT excuse it. I hope she recovers damages from all involved.
