Oracle releases emergency Java update

1. I disabled java in all my browsers, but interesting, internet explorer ceased to function afterwards

(under windows 7)... It wouldn't load webpages, that had previously been in cache or it would load just a tiny bit VEEERY slowly and lock up, wouldn't let me change any settings...

I had IE 9, had to google how to uninstall it, but IE8 that remained did the same thing. Again, after googling how to uninstall under windows 7 (neither show up in control panel programs), I finally have gotten rid of all traces of internet explorer.

Foxfire remained fine and I added chrome for those few sites that seem not to like Mozilla products.

Whatever the issue with internet explorer, I am absolutely done with it...
