We are much closer to Texas. For instance, Lafayette is only 3 hours from Houston, and Lake Charles, only two hours. As you go up our state line, other LA cities are close to large shopping meccas of Texas. But, to reach GA, you would have to go through Mississippi and Alabama. Geography is so much fun. More northern LA cities are closer to Dallas-Ft.Worth.
