Current TV came about because of the sale of Newsworld International to Al Gore. The Canadian Broadcasting Corp (CBC) launched and ran the channel, even when part of the operation got sold to USA Network. I think worst case would be a company set up where Al Gore etc... owns 51% and Qatar owns 49%. But all programming would be run by Al-Jazeera.
