will only be held to account when/if the Senate Bill has, either been brought to a vote and rejected, or if boehner refuses to bring the Senate Bill to a vote AND Democrats publicize the heck out of his refusal. Otherwise, the public will just see that their taxes went up and assign the blame to "Congress (both sides) and the President."
I think Coleman understands this and by offering the Bill, gets his name on the right side of the battle. In 2014, he can accurately claim, "Hey, don't blame me ... I submitted a Bill that would have prevented your taxes from going up; the rest shouted me down."
Democrats need to introduce the Senate Bill, everyday, while asking republicans why they are not acting, now, to protect the working classes.
