23. He was my senator for a long time

Nov 2012

I met him twice, and he was very personable. I attended Bill Clinton's first inauguration, and Senator Dole hosted a coffee and donuts reception in his Senate office. He offered me and my friend the opportunity to watch the inauguration from his office overlooking the platform, but I wanted to experience being in the crowd, so I politely declined. I wish I had done it now! I hope he will be okay, as he is indeed one of the last sane Republicans left.
