Nov 2012

seems to me a party that wasn't elected to anything at all seems to be a third participant in this process. What I mean by that are the pundits and the media. I just get the feeling just like in the election, they are cheering for the Republican agenda. So we have to fight both. I always thought their job was just to report the news and not take one side over the other. If president Obama decides to not do anything on this tax issue with the Republicans, I think the media should just report it as news. I don't think they should embellish the danger of going off this cliff either to scare the American Public. It is just a power move by the President with what he has to use, in order to gain an end. I do not think it will be Dooms day if it happens. The congress still has to present a budget to the president and he will have a lot more revenue to spend. They have to spend it on something. Presenting a tax cut for 98 percent of the people is a good idea too. If the Republicans want to reject it, then it is on them. They can also negotiate cuts for the Defense as well as entitlements from ground zero.

Im hearing Boehner's situation has greatly improved since the election. DCBob Nov 2012 #1

So did Boehner "fail on purpose" or "get 98% of what the GOP wanted"? 99th_Monkey Nov 2012 #21
How do you arrive at 98%? TomCADem Nov 2012 #22
I didn't "arrive at 98%". Speaker Boehner is who said he "got 98%", not me. 99th_Monkey Nov 2012 #24
