(2,737 posts)last week after reading an article about them. I asked to speak to the manager, I didn't have long to wait and it was during their busy lunch hour. I've been eating lunch at the olive garden 2 to 3 times a month with my "lunch friends" for ever. We always go dutch & our bill always comes out to $50 to $60 + tip. In my conversation to the manager, I was calm and respectful, but let him know how often I frequented their restaurant and that I would be boycotting them until their hiring & employment policy changed. I also told him that I would be passing this information on to my family & friends. I asked him to pass this conversation on to Olive Garden's headquarters, which he agreed to do, and he also said that I was the only phone call he'd received regarding this issue.
I think writing to these 2 restaurants is a good idea, but I also think that giving the managers an "ear full" will have a big impact.
