Congressional Republicans didn't want to repeal Obamacare just because it would mean more money for insurance companies. Like most of the things they've done over the past four years, it was meant to make Obama look weak and ineffective, thus serving their ultimate goal of denying him reelection.

Now that that plan's gone out the window, they're just going to have to make the best of it. The smarter heads in the GOP, like Boehner, realize this, so they want to rebrand themselves as reasonable moderates in preparation for the next election. It'll be interesting to see what other tactical reversals the Repubs try to make in the months to come, and how many of the young T-bag hotheads go along with it.
