Mrs. Obama and Sasha served coffee to guests seated at tables, while Malia and Mrs. Robinson walked around with platters, offering to replenish barbecued chicken, potato salad, cornbread and assorted Danish. The President greeted folks by the kitchen and posed for photos, then got onto the lunch service line.

"All right, let's go to work," President Obama said. "I'm ready!" Joined by volunteers, the President scooped macaroni and cheese and served barbecue chicken, and shook hands with those who came through the line, saying alternately to each one, "How are you, sir?" and "Good to see you."
