An old coworker who used to sound off at the ridiculous bureaucrasy used to say "I don't care if it does any good. If it makes me feel better, it's worth it."
Giving this info to Mr. pig. He doesn't hesitate to slam groups that dishonor vets. I think after 30 years together he'd put up with anything from me, but denigrating service personnel would totally cross the line (not that I'd ever do it).
Have to vent more. At what point do older/infirm/impaired people become such a drain on society 
that we encourage them to turn themselves into Soylent Green? In this era of Botox and bolt-on boobs, I find the most beautiful thing is an aged face full of kindness and wisdom. So much to share. But we're supposed to look on them as liabilities. Our loss.
