But, and here's a very important and very little understood aspect of carrying health insurance of any kind, they have the policy so that they are billed the lower insurance company costs for care, NOT the high rates those who truly have no insurance are charged.

And since almost all of his income has come from investments and fees, not earned income, it's possible he never paid into Medicare long enough to qualify for it. Think about it. If I'm right, that's just another reason why people like him simply do not get why SS and Medicare are so important for such a large portion of the population.
