I remember reading that the McCain camp went into full-blown, panic-on-steroids mode when their internal polling showed them down ten points with women. Steve Schmitt said that he knew that there was absolutely no way in hell that they were winning a General Election with a 10 percent deficit with women.
Also, Obama was behind with men in 2008 by 7 percent. He's behind 10 percent now.
So, if we are ahead with women by 18 percent now, and down 10 percent with men--that still leaves us +8 percent (with these gender figures.
In 2008, Obama was ahead with women by 14 percent and down among men by 7--that left us with +6. So, this year is looking even better than 2008.
