143. The Iranian people did not vote for the Supreme Leader

And they have no political recourse if they decide they would like to replace him (as was made evident in 2009).

I am amazed that you appear to be claiming that Iran is any kind of democracy.

There have only been two Supreme Leaders in the history of post-revolution Iran.

Two in 33 years.

The first one only being replaced upon his death.

The current one having held the position for the past 23 years.

Does that sound like a democracy to you?
