(4,741 posts)Early 20s, born and raised in the Bronx, "bling" is everything and iPhones are the ultimate bling for these kids. When I started in July 2010 they all had brand-new 4s, then within a week of the 4S release they all bought them full-price at the Apple store. Yesterday, they were glued to their phones watching the presentation live...and they were completely underwhelmed. "So wait, the screen is only as big as yours? (I have a Droid X)...it's not HD?...I can't use my iHome anymore?" None of them are going to be buying them new; they will stay with the ecosystem but are going to wait for their contracts to renew this time around. My girlfriend's cousin is a huge[/] Applehead, comparable to some of the more..."devoted" fans here and on Apple forums, and he's now waiting for, get this, WINPHONE. Of course the 5 isn't going to be a failure, but I don't see it living up to expectations.
