the Governor, Secretary of State, Treasurer, Attorneys General, both chambers of the legislature (with the Senate having a super majority) and the Ohio Supreme Court went Republican. Actually all of the leadership positions in state government are held by Republicans. There are some good people in Ohio but they are in the minority. After the 2010 census the districts were gerrymandered to favor the Republicans except for a few districts.

on edit: the ecomomy in Ohio at the time of the 2010 elections was one of the worst in the country. Obama and Governor Ted Strickland (D) got the blame.
