In reply to the discussion: Tropical Storm Isaac Could Hit Republican Convention [View all]davsand

I live in Illinois. In my lifetime I have helped clean up after at least four tornadoes--a couple of which were bad enough to make national headlines. One hit the farm where I grew up. Not to get all maudlin or anything, but it is next to impossible to describe the feeling of having to clear remnants of trees you planted forty years earlier away from the front door of your home. It is equally impossible to explain what it feels like to hear your neighbors crying for help when they are trapped in the rubble of what used to be their homes.
Ultimately, you do manage to cope, but I will guarantee that a thinking person will never wish that on anyone else.
Stay safe and be well, Ineeda.

I understand the attempts at levity but I just can't wish storm damage on anyone.
