I thought it was bs at first too, until I read that part.

He had newspaper clippings about the Aurora shooting in his car.

He admitted he had a loaded gun in his backpack when he went to the movie the night before.

It definitely suggests he was considering a copycat shooting and chickened out.

"Also found inside his car were recent news clippings of the mass shooting at the Colorado movie theater, police said."
