In reply to the discussion: WashPost will not retract 'outsourcing' story [View all]rocktivity
(44,555 posts)32. Would you like some whine with that red herring, Mitt?
From the WaPo article:
Mitt Romneys financial company, Bain Capital, invested in a series of firms that specialized in relocating jobs done by American workers to new facilities in low-wage countries like China and India...
Bains foray into outsourcing began in 1993 when the private equity firm took a stake in Corporate Software Inc., or CSI, after helping to finance a $93 million buyout of the firm. CSI...provided a range of services including outsourcing of customer support. Initially, CSI employed U.S. workers to provide these services but by the mid-1990s was setting up call centers outside the country.

The Washington Post asserted that under Mitt Romney Bain Capital sent jobs overseas based on an analysis of 6 companies...(including)
CSI
Stream
Modus Media
...No call centers at CSI or then Stream Intl were moved offshore under Mitt Romney...

R-Money is comparing apples to oranges: unless he can prove that the companies in question were NOT in the business of outsourcing U.S. jobs -- even if they created U.S. jobs in the process -- WaPo has nothing to retract.
