8. I changed it to "only the rich"...that is, only a tiny minority of the Russian population.

The free market has kept the rest of Russia hungry.

The problem in the Soviet Union was the political repression...not the egalitarian aspects of the economy(aspects which were far and few between, in truth, since that economy was geared mainly to privilege the nomenklatura and the Party elite, thus making the austerity imposed on everyone else in post-Soviet Russia completely unconscionable).
