unless the government is subsidizing the imported food too, then the consumers are still subject to the market. and of course, imported food is going to be more costly than locally produced food.

the government's intention on seizures was to increase production with low cost of the product. it hasn't worked.

Venezuela is a one trick pony economy and will remain so unless businesses are allowed to make a profit.

p.s. in those Russian stores, how are they staying in business if no-one is buying the food?
