4. Did you know we use the word "bathroom" for "toilet"?

Did you ever think about that?

Why do people say "I want to go to the bathroom?" They aren't going to take a bath, and they don't care if there is even a bath tub in the room.

Why don't people say "I want to go to the toilet" instead of bathroom.

Not only that, sometimes people say things like "I went to the bathroom in my pants". Now, think about that for a minute. That makes no sense. First off all, there is no bathroom in anyone's pants, so you can't go there. Secondly, people only say that when they DIDN'T go to a bathroom at all!

So, if someone says they have gone to the bathroom in their pants, I really have no idea what it is they mean by that.
