(10,558 posts)He was drunk belligerent and not at all willing to follow the orders of the cops who arrested him. They took him in a squadcar to a deserted alleyway, they then hogtied him in such a way that he was bent backwards past what his spine could handle. Then they beat the shit out of him before taking him to jail. That was two decades ago. My friend was crippled for life from the spinal injuries he suffered from that. He walks with his knees sorta together like having a rope around your legs pulling your knees together. He has had multiple spinal surgeries over the years...
Another friend was done up the same way, taken to the same place and also similarly beaten, likely by the same bad cops. His injuries were far less severe.
I witnessed on tv the riot in Seattle as it unfolded, i suspect that if one looked on YouTube the very broadcasts I saw are available if someone wanted to look for them. I furthermore believe there are agents provocateur who are cops tasked with causing such riots.
I am not saying that the bad cops are not out there, we all know that they ARE out there. Like much of our citizenry many are racist or sexist and some are even republicans! All of them are human but contrary to those who want to see it otherwise, they all signed up to protect and serve. Most of them honor that....especially the protect part. There are countless numbers of us that are sooooo grateful for this.
I can see my words will not sway you...that was never my goal. My words are how I feel and are on behalf of the good cops everywhere. From what I can tell, it is not in their job description to toot their own horns. I may not be man enough to be a cop, but where I can, I got their back.
