Many people are hypocrites who pick and choose what they want to base their beliefs on. And many people have quite contradictory beliefs and worldviews. Yours is just one of a myriad of examples.

You can certainly argue that doesn't make them good Christians. But that's neither here nor there in my argument, which was restricted to abortion. I'm not understanding why you're trying to turn this into an argument about the conservative mind. My point was that there's a strong religious component to abortion opposition. Whatever else may or may not motivate conservative belief isn't really relevant here. They wouldn't be the first people to conveniently ignore some of their own religious teachings.

Besides, the Bible itself has many contradictions. So it's natural that believers would too.
