I never said their whole political philosophy is based off of Christianity. I'm sure parts of it are, but so are plenty of other ideas, including many liberal ones. I'm talking about abortion and abortion only.
How much the abortion issue is tied in with religion is an interesting question. Personally I believe that religion is very important in that regard. It's probably not the whole story, of course. But I'd bet it's a big part of it.
